Jesús Tarifa

Secretary

Jesús Tarifa was born in Bolivia, South America and moved to Caldwell, Idaho when he was eight years old. He attended Caldwell schools graduating from Caldwell High School in 2006. He went on to The College of Idaho triple-majoring in Anthropology/Sociology, History, and International Political Economy.


While a student at The College of Idaho, Jesús was an intern at The Mexican Consulate in Boise, ID, the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC, and the Idaho Nonprofit Center in Boise, ID. Since 2011 Jesús has been working in the banking industry, including doing home loan financing since 2014. He has been a top performing loan officer and takes great pride providing the best service to his clients. He received the Idaho Business Review's Excellence in Finance award in 2020, was one of the top 250 Latino Mortgage Loan Originators in the United States in 2020, and in 2021 was the top performing loan officer in the state of Idaho for PrimeLending.


In his free time Jesús enjoys to run, travel, and volunteer. Jesús served as the chairman of The College of Idaho’s Business Advisory Council from 2018 to 2022, was the president of the Idaho Latino Scholarship Foundation from 2019 to 2022, served on the Advisory Board of Jesse Tree from 2019 to 2022, and currently serves as the secretary of the Hispanic Business Association (HBA). Jesús was a recipient of the HBA scholarship in 2006, 2007, and 2008. He is happy to be able to give back to the organization that helped him achieve his goals of higher education when he was a college student.
